The Boiling Issue: Water charges increase in Kedah

So sad and I'm not happy with the issue at all!

Kampung Sungai Pasir is a small village that was part of Pekan Mahang located under Majlis Perbandaran Kulim Kedah. This small village is a place where I was born, my place that i grow older, my place where my family members stay. Instead of staying in KL for more than 10 years, I planned to permanently stay at this small village one day.

I read about the announcement few weeks ago and today I will share my stand about the issue.

Syarikat Air Darul Aman (Sada) was formerly known as Jabatan Bekalan Air Kedah. Although the name has been changed, I still couldn't capture in my mind, what is the benefits will be gain that may benefits all the people??? I'm saying this as a part of ordinary citizen, non-educated person, a person that struggle to live, and after wearing myself into the shoes of the villages!

I know the situation currently faced by all the villagers at my small kampung. Almost every month there will be a water supply disruption for few days and amazingly almost every important day (kenduri kendara & hari raya, there is also a disruption of a water supply. The thing became bigger when the yellowish water comes out (no filtering at all!??) when the water supply is back.   I do not know what is happening but the decision the increase the water tariff is so unfair. If you cannot give the most basic service on water supply service, don't ever dream to put your so called burden to all the villagers.

To PAS & BN, do not put the blame on each other if you yourself both for years can't manage the issue wisely!

Syarikat Air Darul Aman (Sada) Chief Executive Officer Datuk Adzmi Din said despite the double-digit increases, domestic users, who make up almost 90 per cent of the company's total 506,142 account holders, would only have to fork out between RM3 and RM8 more each month for their water bills.

"Our rates are among the lowest compared with other states and we have not raised the rates since 1993.

"We are the third lowest after Terengganu and Penang," he said

Citing an example, he said consumers would only have to pay an extra 10 sen per cubic metre for the first 20 cubic metres of water. The old rate was 40 sen per cubic metre.

For domestic usage of more than 20 cubic metres up to 35 cubic metres, the rate is 90 sen per cubic metre.

The rate for more than 35 cubic metres is RM1.30 per cubic metre, a 40-sen increase from the old rate.

Adzmi added that the new water tariffs would not be a burden to consumers.

Itulah masalahnya dimana-mana..

Bila kita minta justification kenapa perlu naik tarif, apa yg diorang boleh beri ialah "Oh, ini tidak akan membebankan pengguna".

Hei.. pengguna skrg bukan tak bijak kan?

Bila tarif dah naik, mutu produk/servis masih sama. Takde peningkatan. Macam mana rakyat tak marah!

tarif air naik sedangkan kualiti air masih di tahap rendah...kalau tarif air ni naik sebab nak baiki kualiti air, aku xkisah...so, kena tunggu lagi 2-3 bulan untuk tengok result dia...

Alasan yang sama digunapakai. Naikkan harga utk naikkn kualiti... Kita tunggu dan lihat...
